KIRKLAND, Wash. – August 22, 2022 – INRIX Inc., a world leader in mobility analytics and connected car services, today announced that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has implemented INRIX IQ Signal Analytics to improve safety and efficiency on its arterial road network. INRIX won the bid for a multi-year contract that currently covers over 3,000 miles of high-priority corridors across Florida – the largest Signals Analytics subscription to date.
“Our team is thrilled to offer support to a leader in arterial management who shares the same goal to provide safe mobility, while also minimizing delay, energy, and environmental impacts,” said Rick Schuman, Vice President, Public Sector Americas at INRIX. “We are supporting a statewide service to monitor the performance of all approaches and movements at signalized intersections along priority corridors to continue to improve the efficient use of agency resources in an ever-growing and thriving state.”
Signal Analytics, already used by agencies in 17 states in the U.S., is the industry’s first intersection analytics platform based exclusively on anonymous GPS-equipped vehicle data. The cloud-based application calculates industry-defined metrics including control delay, split failures, turn ratios and volumes at a far lower cost than instrumenting each intersection with equipment. Systemwide summary metrics are updated daily and presented in an intuitive, web-based application available through INRIX IQ, a SaaS application suite for uncovering mobility insights.
Signal Analytics also generates daily performance metrics for movements and approaches, and monitors travel times of trips traversing distinct corridors. New weekly and monthly intersection report capabilities were added as part of this contract and are now available to Signal Analytics users nationwide – providing additional utility alongside the existing daily reports, visualizations, and interactive query tools.
Leveraging more than 100 million trips and a billion miles daily, Signal Analytics delivers every metric necessary for operators to fully understand performance on nearly 250,000 signalized intersections across the U.S. Customizable daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards highlight key metrics, problems and trends for intersections and corridors across a road network. In-depth searches and advanced functionality, such as user-defined date(s) and time periods, leverage the Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Laboratory at the University of Maryland’s powerful Regional Integrated Transportation Information System (RITIS) platform.
