The Challenge:
After a severe storm knocked out power to 40% of the 1500 signals in Dallas, city teams struggled to communicate how widespread and challenging the repairs were and how hard they were working. They had to communicate with leadership and a frustrated public.
Solution:
Using Signal Analytics to measure travel times on specific corridors, consultant Kimley-Horn was able to quantify and visualize delays and share them with leadership and the public.
Results:
Measuring those visualized delays over several days, the city was able to show how quickly they fixed signals and get travel times back to typical – less than 72 hours!
